More about money, cost and value.

We have thought and talked about money loads at The Safe House and we still haven’t come to a satisfactory conclusion about it.

We probably need to think and talk a bit more about it with more people. If we do that, we might find a way that’s good for everyone.

The thing is, we don’t like money, really. And we know there are other ways in which we could meaningfully make exchanges, if that’s what we need to do. We are all in this together and we all have things to offer, to take, to achieve. Money, it seems, has become the conventional means by which we measure the worth of these things. At The Safe House, we find these notions frustratingly problematic.

We need some cash, though. No doubt about it. And if you’ve got some, you could send it our way. You could do this by buying stuff from us. We could sell you books and, maybe some other items from our collections. We could also sell you our services.

It seems that the conventional thing with regard to services is to link time with money. If you would like to contribute to our money supply like this, you are very welcome to do so. We will offer you opportunities to make money donations to The Safe House, but you could also have a look at the information regarding Alternative Remuneration Mechanisms (ARMs)

On the other hand, you may want to be straight up and direct, engage with the system on its own terms in the best interests of the now and the future pay a rate per hour for our services.

If this is your preferred method, we do not have a problem with it; we are striving to survive within the madness too.
